League Rules

Saturday Night Express League Rules 2011-2012

1.      This shall be a USBC sanctioned league.

2.      This league will be named SATURDAY NIGHT EXPRESS and shall be a mixed league. The teams shall consist of 4 participating bowlers. There shall be at least one person of the opposite sex to be considered a legal roster. The same shall apply to drop scores. In addition, the bowler with the most games bowled shall be used for drop scores as long as a legal line up is maintained, as per the USBC rules . The league shall have 10-18 teams with up to 8 members per team.

 

3.      This league will begin at 6:30 p.m. on August 27, 2011 and will bowl 30 weeks. The sweeper will be on the 31st week, April 14, 2012.

 

4.      The bowling fee per night will be $12.50. This will consist of $10.50 to be paid to the center for lineage, $.50 to be paid to the Secretary, and $1.50 to be placed in the prize fund. The president will verify the balance in the account at least once monthly with the Secretary to maintain bonding coverage.

 

5.      The team captain will be responsible for each team’s payment weekly. Any bowler more than 2 weeks in arrears will not bowl until made up. All pay envelopes must be turned into the Secretary by the end of the first game. The team total will be $50.00.

 

6.      The last two weeks of bowling fees should be paid by the 6th week of bowling, October 8, 2011.

 

7.      This will be a 4 point system with 3 points for individual games and 1 point for team series.

 

8.      Handicap will be 90% of 220. This league will use last year’s league average (based on 21 games or more) for the first three weeks. If the new bowler has no league average, they will establish an average the first night of bowling and only use for 1 week.

 

9.      A vacancy score of 120 with handicap will be used for both men and women.

 

10. An absent bowler will use their current average less 10 pins.

 

11. Two regular members constitute a legal lineup. 

 

12. Late bowlers may make up frames missed if they begin before the last bowler on the opposing team completes the third frame of any given game.

 

 

13.  As USBC rules 111a, games must be bowled as scheduled unless a request is made, notice is given and approval is granted. Consideration for pre-bowl or post-bowl will be the secretary’s decision.

 

14. A team may bowl unopposed if the opposing team fails to appear. The team that fails to appear shall forfeit said games unless they have been granted a postponement or an emergency situation exists. The team bowling must bowl within 40 pins of their team average to win.

 

15. Any bowler quitting the league will forfeit all money earned. Any bowler replacing said bowler will be eligible for money due the bowler who quit.

 

16. A bowler must bowl 2/3 of the season to be eligible for individual awards.

 

17. 100% of the prize fund will be paid back in the form of cash on wins. A prize list will be submitted by 5th week as per USBC rule 117a.

 

18. The sweeper will be on the 31st week of bowling, April 14, 2012. The fee will be $12.50. Lineage will be $6.00 and the balance will go to the sweeper fund.

 

19. There will be a split season. There will be a position round on the 15TH and 29th week and the  Roll off will be on the 30th week.

 

20. $.25 for an open frame in the third frame of the third game will go into the sweeper fund.
